Najmaa Waqf · Protection with Purpose
A stronger future begins with people who are willing to help build it.
Najmaa Waqf brings us together around a shared purpose: supporting social justice, uplifting our community and helping build institutions that can serve generations.
Grounded in Islamic principles of mutual responsibility and care, this is a journey open to everyone who believes in that purpose.

A family facing hardship needs somewhere to turn. A young person needs opportunities to learn and grow. The people providing essential grassroots services need support that helps them keep going.
These needs ask something of all of us.
We believe our community has a role in creating the institutions it hopes to rely on: places that educate, services that care, and organisations that stand beside people when they need support.
Through Najmaa Waqf, we are taking a practical step towards that future. We invite you to take part in an effort that connects today’s choices with the wellbeing of those who come after us.
What will the next generation be able to rely on because we chose to begin?
Your 5%. A future worth building.
A little care today can become part of something bigger tomorrow. Every protection year adds another contribution to a fund built to benefit generations.
5% of your Base Contribution goes to Najmaa Waqf, not 5% of your total payment. It is included in your protection price.

You do not need to purchase protection to make a donation.
A waqf is an Islamic charitable endowment established to create continuing benefit. It reflects the aspiration of sadaqah jariyah: charity whose benefit continues beyond the original act of giving.
Najmaa Waqf is an established sub-fund administered by Awqaf Australia. Contributions are pooled and invested through the Awqaf Australia Forever Fund, with the aim of preserving charitable capital and generating resources for future grants.
After the initial 12 months, Awqaf assesses how much is available for grants to projects that meet Najmaa Waqf’s purposes. The amount and timing of grants depend on the funds available and the relevant arrangements.
This is a commitment to building steadily, so that the work can continue.

Najmaa Waqf has been established. We are now exploring potential projects, building the fund and working towards the first assessment of funds available for grants.
There is a place for you at this stage of the journey. Follow the priorities being explored and the steps being taken as we work towards lasting community benefit.
